More About Me

When I started this blog, I don't think I gave you enough information about myself. So, here I go. My twin sister, Sarah, loves vampires. So do I. She really wants to see New Moon, I do too.

I really do have a perpetual love for Obstetrics/Gynecology and Deliver Me. I really want to meet the
Deliver Me doctors. Since I know so much, every time someone asks me a question, my brain goes into convection mode. Seriously. I was talking to my mom about my mnemonic device and Cervical Incompetence. She asked me how to cure it. That's when it happened. My brain started spinning. I kept telling it to go faster, because no matter how I tried I couldn't find Cerclage. I finally did, and my grandma said,"You are too smart for me."

Mnemonic Device

As you may already know, I have a perpetual love for Obstetrics/Gynecology, so I have been using mnemonic devices to memorize definitions of school vocabulary words. For example, one of them was ineptitude, which means incompetence. I immediately thought of cervical incompetence( the cervix can't hold the weight of a pregnancy, so it dilates and effaces.) That is how I memorized the definition of ineptitude.

Deliver Me Advisory

If you enjoy what I enjoy, I advise you to watch an episode of Deliver Me. It is very interesting to learn about the doctors and their patients. I'm not sure if I told you this, so I will again. It is on the Discovery Health Channel. Also, it is very educational.

Also, go on www.webmd.com. It has glossaries of words in different medical subjects.

School

As you may know, I am in 6th grade. I am a straight A student:). I am taking a semester of Spanish, and I have an average of 103 in that class. Cool, right.

My birth

I had Intrauterine Growth Retardation(IGR). I have a feeling you can tell by context clues what that is, so I won't tell you. But if you need help, leave a comment, and I will tell you. I have a twin who is 2 minutes older than me. I was born via cesarean section. I weighed 2 lbs, 2 ounces. I know, that's small, but I was only 32 weeks gestational age. I went into cardiac arrest when I was born. They thought I was intersexed because I had a hernia. My mom also had fibroids, so she had a hysterectomy. My mom said she was happy that she had an interesting Obstetrical story to tell me. The End?

Deliver Me

Deliver Me goes on every Tuesday night at 9:00 central time. It is now Sunday, November 22nd, 2009, 5:25 PM central time, and I can't wait until Tuesday. Oh, I just remembered, Dr. Bohn's daughter is another week older. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry. I was born on a Saturday.

Life

Have you ever loved something so much you couldn't stand it anymore? Well, that's how I feel. I might be able to tell you the definition of VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean), dysplasia( abnormal tissue growth), or ZIFT(Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer), and so much more, but what you may not know is that I just think it's a little too much for a 11 year old to take in over a course of 3 months. Yes, you read it right, I learned 245 out of the 260 words in my notebook over a course of 3 months.

Emotions

I'm at a point where I hardly ever get through a day without crying. I seriously thought about making a punching bag. I would write on it, " Miscarriages, Stillbirths and all other causes of infant and fetal demise." And I think I will. It will help me anyway.
I don't think hormones are fully responsible for my emotions. I know puberty is a big part of what I am going through, but I think it is also what I know. I am always afraid that something bad is going to happen to someone I care about.
